Humbird (13 December 1973)
Thursday night, Millie Trachsel, Beatrice Lang and Ellen Phillips attended a
Beaux Arts Christmas party at Wildcat Inn.
Mrs. Leland Duxbury is a patient in the Black River Falls hospital. He has a
respiratory infection.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fitzmaurice, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Fitzmaurice and Mrs. Geneva
Fitzmaurice drove to Rochester, Mn, on Sunday to see Levi Fitzmaurice, who is in
the Methodist Hospital. He is showing some improvement.
Mrs. Laura Dignin spent several days last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Gil Blom in Price.
Mr and Mrs. Willard Stanley and Mrs. Emma Gerber drove to Cadott Sunday and were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Schmitz. Their son, Stewart, was home from his
tour of duty in the army, and is now stationed in Massachusetts. Other guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ness and family of Eau Claire.
Fay Taylor and Patricia Taylor of Mosinee were luncheon guests Sunday of Mrs.
Anita Markham. They were on their way to Rochester, Mn, where both will have a
checkup at a hospital.
Mrs. Raymond Stuve was taken to the hospital in Neillsville Monday night for
treatment. She has improved some at this writing.
It has been reported that Chester Stanley of Portland, Ore., has suffered a
light heart attack recently and is confined to his home.
Mrs. Frieda Zerbel spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. La Verne Kaufman and Monday
drove to Marshfield, where both will have a checkup at the clinic.
Mrs. Ben Clouse was here from Loyal Satruday to attend funeral services for Mrs.
Mary Iffland.
Mrs. Johanna Olson was a dinner and supper guest Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Zimmerman in Fairchild.
Cold and snow keep folk’s home, but fishing houses are appearing on the local
lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Meyers of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Breheim of
Merrillan were recent visitors at the Perle Pickett home.
Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett attended the 35th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilbur Breheim in Merrillan Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stollard, accompanied by Mrs. Thane Joos of Alma Center and
Mrs. Maude Newton, were in Eau Claire Saturday night.
