Leo J. Lukowicz III, son of Mrs. Tess Lukowicz, Marshfield, and the late Leo J.
Lukowicz, Colby, has received a research stipend from the dean's committee on
undergraduate research at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
The stipend was one of five awarded at the university for the 1968 – 1969 school
year.
Mr. Lukowicz, who will be a senior this fall, majoring in submarine geology,
will be doing his research on wester Lake Michigan, entitled primary sedimentary
structures in the breaker zone of Terry Andrae State Park, Wisconsin.
The research dells with wind generated ripple marks and sand movements versus
current velocity. The study will take place from June 1968 until July 1969, at
which time a paper will be written and a report presented before the Wisconsin
Academy of Science.
