Washburn (20 December 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Condron and sons of Schaumburg, Il., spent Tuesday night and
Wednesday last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, Mrs. Harry Kissling and Mrs. Neil Meddaugh attended
the Christmas supper and party of the Granton Senior Citizens Tuesday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause went to Menomonee Falls Wednesday, where they visited
their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Krause and daughter, Cheryl,
Wednesday night they attended the Christmas party of the Construction company
where he has worked for 25 years, They returned home Thursday. Mr. Krause
received a 25-year pin from the union.
Mrs. Wanda Pretsch returned home Saturday from Memorial Hospital, where she was
a patient for 10 days.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zank of Cedar Falls, Ia., were supper guests last week
Sunday of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams. Her
mother, Mrs. Art Williams accompanied them home to spend the winter with them.
Arnold Huth, Sr., is still a patient at Memorial Hospital and hasn’t returned
home yet as reported last week. He continues quite ill at times and is expected
to undergo more surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Lutz spent the weekend in Milwaukee and Chicago visiting
their sons and families. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer did their chores.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams and son, Wendell and Morris, were supper guests
Satruday of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg and
sons, at their cottage at Hatfield. They honored Mrs. Vandeberg’s birthday.
Mrs. Harold Elmendorf and granddaughter, Carrie Sexton, spent Friday night and
Saturday with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ehlert, in Gilman,
and helped Mrs. Ehlert celebrate her birthday. They also visited her mother,
Mrs. Magnus Romfoe and sister, Mrs. Frank Herrmann.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg and sons of Wisconsin Rapids visited Friday
evening at the Oliver Williams home.
