County agents in this area report that the army worm infestation is diminishing
and aerial dusting and field spraying have been effective.
They also report that although rain is needed, at this time it would retard
harvesting of grain.
The high temperatures and dry weather of the past few days have hastened the
ripening of grain in this area. Oats are being cut and shocks of grain are a
reminder that summer is rapidly advancing.
