Pleasant Ridge (20 December 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Darol Lewis planned to visit his father, William Lewis, in Osseo
Tuesday or Wednesday. Their son, David, participated in an FFA competition in
Auburndale Thursday together with other members of the Neillsville High School
FFA parliamentary procedure team.
The Pleasant Ridge Circle of the Neillsville United Methodist Church met
Thursday afternoon in Neillsville with Mrs. Lewis Scholtz. Mrs. Ruben Hantke was
in charge of the Christmas program, which included trimming a Christmas tree to
illustrate how that tree fits into the Christian life. An exchange of gifts was
followed by lunch served by the hostess.
Ray Hoeft of Granton, brother of Mrs. Carl Drescher returned home Friday, from
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield where he underwent heart surgery.
Rollie Dietrick and his daughter, Marian, visited Sunday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. Vern G. Howard. The Howards expect their son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col.
and Mrs. James Howard and two sons, to arrive Friday from Glen Burnie, Md., to
spend the holidays with them. The James Howard family will leave January 7 for a
three-year stint in Germany.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Free of Rt. 1 Neillsville, plan to entertain this (Thursday)
evening in observance of the first birthday of their son, Chris Robert. Guest
area to be Chris’ grandparents, Mrs. Herb Free of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Drescher; his great-grandmother, Mrs. Otellia Hoeft of Granton; and his
baptismal sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krainz and family of Willard.
