Lang, Albert (25 December 1889 - 13 December 1973)
A retired railroad employee, Albert Lang of Chili, died December 13 in
Neillsville at the age of 83. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St.
Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili with the Rev. Robert Houston officiating.
Interment was in the parish cemetery. A wake service was held Sunday evening at
the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, where the body of Mr. Lang was in state.
He was born December 25, 1889, at Le Seuer, Mn, and lived at various places
while working as a railroad agent telegrapher for 45 years, spending about 30
years at Chili. His marriage to the former Myrtle Garton took place September
22, 1914, at Menomonie.
Before entering Memorial Home, Mr. Lang was very active in performing extra
duties at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, of which he was a member. He was also a
member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Dewey of Humbird,
Darrell of Superior and Thomas of Eau Claire; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (June)
Alagna of Long Island, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, George Lang of Lake Crystal, Mn, and a sister,
Mrs. Florence Frank of Le Seuer, Mn.
Pallbearers were Emil Tykac, Oscar Bartsch, Victor Montag, George Schecklman,
Don Bersell and Howard Geldernick.
