Matousek, Eva (24 December 1882 - 20 December 1973)

A Town of Levis resident since 1906, Mrs. Eva Matousek of Rt. 3 Neillsville, died December 20 in Neillsville at the age of 90. Funeral services were held from the Georgas Funeral Home Monay morning, December 24, on what would have been her 91st birthday. The Rev. Charles D. Brady of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated and burial was made in the Levis Cemetery.

Mrs. Matousek, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zaruba, was born December 24, 1882, in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States in 1905. Her marriage to Vaclar “Jim” Matousek took place February 14, 1906, in Chicago, Il., and the couple moved to the Town of Levis that same year. She and her husband farmed there for 63 years, until his death in 1969.

Survivors include seven children: Mary Hardy and James Matousek of Neillsville, Mrs. Ann Karlovsky of Riverside, Il., Mrs. George (Rosaline) Kaity of Cicero, Il., Charles and Laddie Matousek of Neillsville and Mrs. Frances Prell of Chicago, Il. There are also eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren surviving.
