Fortuna, Louis Albert (6 June 1912 - 18 December 1973)
Louis Albert Fortuna, 61, of Willard, died December 18 at Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Friday at 2
p.m. from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Michael Mertens, pastor
of Holy Family Catholic Church of Willard, officiated. Burial was made in the
Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Fortuna was born in Willard on June 6, 1912, the son of Anton and Mary (Kershisnik)
Fortuna. He lived all his life in the Willard area on a farm. He was educated in
Willard schools. He was married to Christine Cerne on June 9, 1945, at Willard.
His wife survives, as do two daughters, Mrs. Allen D. (Donna) Smith of Evanston,
Il., and Charlotte, at home; two sons: Louis, Jr. at home and Eugene of Kansas
City, Mo.; and six grandchildren. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Frances
Slemec of Owen, Mrs. John (Anna) Fortuna of Rock Springs, Wy., and Mrs. Mary
Savage of Berwyn, Il., and a brother, John Fortuna of Greenwood.
