Army Lieutenant James D. Runzheimer, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Runzheimer of
Colby, recently received a parachutist badge upon completing the U.S. Army
infantry school's three-week airborne course at Ft. Benning, Ga. His training,
which included five jumps from a C-119 airplane flying at an altitude of 12,500
feet, qualified him as a parachutist. Lt. Runzheimer received his commission as
a Second Lieutenant from the U.S. Army Infantry Officer Candidate school at Ft.
Benning on May 11, after six months of training. He is presently assigned to the
Defense Language Institute, West Coast, at the Presidio of Monterey, Calif.,
where he is studying Turkish. Lt. Runzheimer is a 1967 graduate of the
University of Wisconsin at Madison.
