Tesmer, Ida (8 JUN 1885 – 14 AUG 1968)
Mrs. Ida Tesmer, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1968, at Memorial Hospital at
Medford. She had been a patient there since August 11.
Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church at Colby Saturday, Aug. 17.
The Rev. David Pankow officiated at the 2 p.m. services, and at the interment,
which was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Leonhardt, Pat Smith, Willard Frome, Milford Frome, Ted
Frome, and Herbert Steinwand.
The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.
The former Ida Frome was born in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) June 8,
1885, and she attended local schools. Her marriage to John Tesmer, who died in
1938, took place Oct. 25, 1905, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.
The couple operated a cheese factory one mile west of Colby until 1935, when
they retired and moved into the city.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Tesmer continued to live in their home in
Colby until she suffered a heart attack in 1962. Since that time she resided at
the Memorial Nursing Home at Medford.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid and Sewing Circle.
Surviving are two sons, Woodrow and Junior Tesmer of Colby, and two daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Dora) Hafer of East Dearborn, Mich., and Mrs. Harold (LaVerne)
Behning of Greendale, Wis. There are 11 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
