Schjoneman, Ernest #2 (17 FEB 1910 – 15 AUG 1968)
Military rites for Ernest Edward Schjoneman, 58, Coos Bay, Ore., were held
Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby at 2 p.m.
Interment was made in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Unity. The Rev. Robert
Sutherland, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiated at the rites.
Pallbearers were Anton Schjoneman, Merlin Schjoneman, Lloyd Ringquist, Alvin
Ringquist, Ed Melander and Seymour Gustafson.
Mr. Schjoneman died Thursday, Aug. 15, 1968, at the Veterans Administration
Hospital at Portland, Ore., where he had been a patient for about a year.
He was born in the town of Brighton in Marathon County Feb. 17, 1910. He
received his education in Unity schools, and as a young man made his home with
his parents. He enlisted in the service during World War II and served with the
3rd Armored Division Engineer Corps in Europe.
For the past 20 years he worked as a millwright in lumber camps in Oregon.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Edith Schjoneman of Unity, and three sisters,
Mrs. Edwin (Hazel) Witte of Colby, Mrs. Robert (Verna) Kester of Wis. Rapids,
and Mrs. James (Norma) Liebelt of Myrtle Point, Ore., and a brother, Gordon
Schjoneman of Coos Bay, Ore.
