The 31st annual Merwin reunion was held at Fern Island, Wausau, Sunday, Aug. 18,
1968, with about 85 relatives present.
During the business meeting, which followed the noon lunch, new officers were
elected for the following years. They are Charles Loucks, Abbotsford, president;
Richard Merwin, Milwaukee, secretary; Dan Blair, Wausau, treasurer, and Arvin
Merwin, Kewaskum, vice-president.
It was reported that the Miles Merwin Association will be publishing a book this
year tracing the family back to England.
A moment of silence was observed for members of the family who had died within
the past year.
Mrs. Lem Loucks reported on her work with the family picture album. She asked
all present to submit to her any pictures of reunions or important events.
Ina Hennlich, historian, gave a report and reminded everyone to inform her of
any new births, marriages, or deaths.
It was decided to have the 1969 reunion the fourth Sunday of August at Cherokee
Park.
