Armstrong, Donald A. (29 AUG 1904 – 31 AUG 1968)

Donald A. Armstrong, 64, Abbotsford, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 31, 1968, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He had been in ill health for the past year.

Masonic services were held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m., at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, Burial was made in the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) Cemetery.

The Rev. Charles E. Glidden, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford, conducted the services.

Pallbearers were Maurice Hutt, Ray Wollert, Robert Anderson, Clayton Afkend, George Vetter and Robert Janda.

Mr. Armstrong was born at Greenwood Aug. 29, 1904. He received his education at Greenwood schools, and attended Marquette University, the University of Minnesota and La Salle Business College.

His marriage to the former Margaret Burkholder, who survives him, took place July 3, 1936, at St. Paul.

He was employed by the Northern States Power Company for approximately 10 years. He then worked as an auditor for the department of municipal taxation for the state of Wisconsin, and as an accountant for Hardware Mutual of Stevens Point. For the past 23 years he was associated with Maurice Hutt in Hutt Electric of Abbotsford.

Mr. Armstrong served on school boards at both Greenwood and Abbotsford. He was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge and the Medford Lodge, and he belonged to the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the Eau Claire Consistory.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Armstrong of Park Falls and Bruce Armstrong of Madison, and four grandchildren. His mother, Mrs. Tony Armstrong, who has been making her home with him, also survives.

Preceding him in death were a brother and sister.
