Wesenberg, Emma (9 September 1890 - 25 December 1973)
Funeral services were held Friday, from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
for Mrs. Emil (Emma) Wesenberg of Neillsville who died December 25, 1973, at the
age of 83. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the
Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
Born September 9, 1890, in the Town of Pine Valley and educated in schools
there, Mrs. Wesenberg was the daughter of August and Bertha (Nemitz) Meihack.
After working in La Crosse for nine years, she returned to Neillsville and was
married here on October 18, 1924, to Emil Wesenberg. The couple farmed in the
Town of Pine Valley before moving to the city in 1959. Mrs. Wesenberg, who had
been in failing health for the past year, was a member of St. John’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband; by two sisters: Mrs. August (Clara) Beyer of
Neillsville and Mrs. Adolph (Mildred) Beyer of Milwaukee; and by a brother,
Anton Meihack of Marshfield.
Pallbearers were: Robert Schiller, Clarence Schlinkert, William Hoffmann,
Frederick Stelter, Joe Kaczor and Art Dux. “Jesus Lead Thou on” and “What a
Friend We Have in Jesus” were sung by Edward Schoenherr. Victor Lehmann was the
accompanist.

Mrs. David Kaczkowski, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Matkavick and Ronald Gall,
West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. James Beyer, Menasha; Mr and Mrs. Donald Olson, Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gower, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wenzel, Mr.
and Mrs. Anton Meihack and Mrs. Herbert Severt, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. George
Beyer and Herman Beyer, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Beyer and Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Beyer, Wisconsin Rapids.
