Daylight Savings Time (3 January 1974)
As a response to the energy crisis, congress has adopted a law making daylight
saving time the official time starting January 6, Sunday, at 12:01 a.m.
Clocks will be set ahead one hour at that time. Schools will start an hour
earlier, businesses and professional offices will open an hour earlier, as will
public offices, transportation facilities, etc.
So remember, if you plan to keep up with things there are two things to do: read
The Clark County Press, and set your clock ahead one hour before you go to bed
Saturday night.
