Eder, Howard D. (14 APR 1931 - 4 AUG 2015)

Howard D. Eder, 84, Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Wausau. He was the son of Martin and Viola (Stein) Eder.

Howard was born April 14, 1931 in Athens and attended Athens area schools. He married Geraldine Brickheimer on June 16, 1954 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens. They owned and operated Athens area school buses before moving to Wausau in 1977. He retired from Johnnie's Service in Wausau.

Howard dealt with many health challenges throughout the years, but his quiet strength was an inspiration to his family. Surviving Howard is his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Eder, Wausau; they had three children, Charlene (Patrick) Hughes, Missouri, Linda (Kevin) Radtke, Arizona and Randal (Linda) Eder, Mosinee; five grandchildren, Michael Hughes, Missouri, Michelle (fiancé Jeremy) Hughes, Texas, Kristy Eder, Minneapolis and Kali and Jenilee Eder, Mosinee; four sisters, Ruth Lundahl, Neenah, Audrey Eder, Woodruff, Shirley Drewek, Michigan and Sue (Mike) Krieger, Cedarburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Martin Eder Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Drewek and Robert Lundahl.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Deacon Peter Burek will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

Friends may call on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. The family expresses thanks to the staff at Lake View Heights for their excellent and compassionate care of Howard. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
