Hobbs, Lewis (245 December 1879 - 30 December 1973)
Lewis Hobbs, 94, died Sunday morning, December 30, at Mt. Washington Home in Eau
Claire. He was born December 24, 1879, in the Town of Cleveland, Jackson County.
He was married to the former Mamie Johnson in 1911 and lived in Washington until
1917, when they moved to the Fairchild area, where they farmed. He owned and
operated a service station in Fairchild for more than 20 years. The family lived
at one time in the house now owned by Grace Brinkman in Humbird.
He is survived by a son, Lloyd of Eau Claire; a sister, Mrs. Lenna Raymond of
Chippewa Falls; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta,
the Rev. Ralph Walker officiating. Burial was made in Curtis Cemetery, Garden
Valley.
