Mrs. Stella McCann and children, Sharol, Debbie and Ray, of Germantown, visited
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Dettman and other relatives in the area,
recently.
Mr. and Mrs. William Schorer and family, Rockford, Ill., visited Mr. and Mrs.
Conrad Dettman and relatives and friends in the area over the Labor Day weekend.
C.A. Nelsen entered St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Sunday, for surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kowalk spent the weekend at Turtle Lake. Sunday they
accompanied Earl Ruist, Mrs. Otto Kowalk and Mrs. Fred Baumgart to Red Wing,
Minn.
L/CPL Richard Kayhart has returned home Aug. 21 after receiving his discharge
from the Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from Feb. 14 until Aug. 2, 1968. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kayhart, route 1, Colby.
Mrs. Ada Kayhart of Green Bay returned to her home after spending a two week
vacation with her son, Albert, and family, and with other children in the
Spencer and Unity areas.
Phyllis Weix, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Weix, spent the weekend at home.
She is enrolled in the women's job corps at Northern Michigan University at
Marquette.
Attending the baptism of Kimberly Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Couillard
of Waukesha, were Eunice Sauer of Marshfield, who was the baby's godmother, and
Nick Kleparski of Abbotsford and Mrs. Herb Sauer of Colby. Mrs. Couillard is the
former Judy Sauer of Medford.
Dr. Irving Tesmer of Buffalo, N.Y. is visiting his cousin, Martha Buss, Colby,
and other relatives in this area. Other visitors at the Buss home were Mr. and
Mrs. Vance Yost of Oshkosh and Mrs. Carla Lein and her sister, Edith Ostenson of
Curtiss, who called there Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Della Gebhardt, Wauwatosa, Mrs. Stella Salter, Wis. Rapids, Mrs. Mayme
Sampe, Pipestone, Minn., and Senator and Mrs. Gene Mammengo and children of
Bemidji, Minn., have all returned to their homes after visiting at the homes of
Mrs. Herbert Meyers R. and Mrs. Otto Schulte last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Waldhart and family, Appleton, spent the weekend with his
mother and brother, Mrs. Edna Waldhart and Buzzy, and at the parental Glen Shupe
home in Spencer.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Morgan and family, Fond du Lac, were weekend guests at the
home of Mrs. Neva Harry. They also attended the wedding of their niece, Carol
Allmann, and Richard Masanz, on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Meese, Carol and George Jr. of Annapolis, Md., spent the
past two weeks visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franz, Colby, and
with her brother, Ray Franz, at Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Franz took the Meese's to
Stevens Point, where they boarded a jet plane for their flight home.
