Sanchez, Daniel Paul (28 APR 1935 - 11 AUG 2015)
Daniel Paul Sanchez, age 80, died at his residence at N 5124 County Road G,
Gilman, WI, on Tuesday August 11, 2015.
Cremation rites have been accorded, Services will be held in Sacramento,
California at a later date.
Daniel was born on April 28, 1935 in Sacramento, California. He graduated from
Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento.
He married Bonna Ann Schoonover, September 28, 1968 in Reno, NV. Growing up,
Daniel was a star football player in high school, and earned the nick name Dan
“The Tank” Sanchez. He was inducted into the Sacramento Mexican-American Sports
Hall Of Fame. Daniel worked for Sacramento Municipal Utility District, as a
supervisor in their computer department, and retired from there in 1997. He was
a US Navy Veteran, serving as a Yeoman in its clerical division. Daniel was an
avid Oakland Raiders fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his wife Bonna Ann (Schoonover) Sanchez; children Steve
(Rosanna) Sanchez of Italy, Tony (Beverly) Sanchez of Sacramento, CA, Dave
(Jeanette) Sanchez of Loomis, CA, Debbie (Dale) Thomas of Gilman, WI;
grandchildren Vicente, Mateo, Giulia Sanchez, Brandon (Katie), Sophia, Mason,
Taylor Sanchez, Zachary (Kayo), Derek (Erika) Sanchez, Andrea, Nick Diloreto,
Tiffany (Sean) Partridge, Samantha (Damian) Baltzley; great grandchildren Kira,
Willow, Louis, Henry, Riley, Kameron, Weston and Emma.
He is also survived by sisters Reyna (Ray) Gomez of Oregon House, CA; Pauline
Daly of Marysville, CA.
Daniel is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Pauline (Cisneros) Sanchez.
In honor of Daniel, memorial donations are to be given in his name to the
American Heart Association, or to Christian Brothers High School Sports
Boosters.
