Gress, Elsie (1888? - 6 January 1974)
Funeral services were held January 9 from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs.
Elsie Gress, 85, of Neillsville, who died January 6. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of
the United Methodist church officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville
City Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Gress were Joe Resong, Herman Moen, Fred Appleyard, Jerry
Opelt, Dale Armitage and Edgar Tews.
Mrs. Steve Knoop sang “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go’ and “Jesus, I My Cross
Have Taken.” The accompanist was Mrs. James Musil.
Those from out-of-town who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Anding, Mr. and Mrs. Oris Anding and William Anding, Mayville; Mrs. Helene M.
Harriman, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Hagedorn and daughters, Sun Prairie; Mrs.
Erma Terman, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Anding, Madison; Mr. and Mrs.
Archie Vanderhoof, Mrs. Viola Nelson and Mrs. Carol Harriman, Kenosha; Mr and
Mrs. Fred Zuehlke and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anding, Granton; and Nettie Philpott
and Ruth Kline, Loyal.
Ladies of the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors Lodge attended in a body.
