Knuf, Ernest (9 MAR 1901 – 15? SEP 1968)
Services will be held for Ernest Knuf, 67, of Boone, Ia., on Thursday afternoon,
Sept. 19, at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby at 1:30.
The Rev. David Pankow will officiate and burial will be made at Cadott. Mr. Knuf
died of pneumonia following a hip operation. Services were held at Boone, Ia.,
on Wednesday and the body was brought to Colby.
He was born at Merrill, March 9, 1901. He received his education in Athens and
moved to Cadott when he was a young man. In 1930 he marriage Helen Blauback of
Spencer. They farmed at Cadott until 1940 and farmed at Stratford until 1946.
They also operated a farm in the town of Bright, east of Unity, until 1951, when
they moved to Boone, Ia., where he worked as a hospital attendant.
Surviving children are: Mrs. Evelyn Kops of Unity, Philip Knuf of Frederic, Mark
Knuf of West Allis, Rueben Knuf of West Allis, Mrs. Caroline Glaeser of Green
Bay, Mrs. Verna Furth of Wellington, Ohio, and Anita Wiedenhoeft of Madison. He
is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ludi? Wolyz of Big
Bend, Wis.
Mr. Knuf was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
