Orth, Diane Carol (21 SEP 1968)
A home at route 4, Bonnie Bay, Stevens Point, awaited the new Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Tomandl on their return from a honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin.
Miss Diane Carol Orth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Orth of route 1,
Abbotsford, and Gerald M. Tomandl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tomandl, GSR,
Medford, repeated their marriage vows at St. Bernard's Catholic Church,
Abbotsford, Saturday, Sept. 21, 1968 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Emil Hodnik
officiated.
Miss Rosemary Zahn of Wausau and Lee Tomandl, Milwaukee, were the honor
attendants. Miss Sharon Orth of Abbotsford and Miss Sandra Krueger of Milan, as
bridesmaids, and Joseph Tomandl Jr. of Medford and Dennis Orth of Abbotsford, as
groomsmen, completed the wedding party.
Performing the ushering duties were Gene Orth of Abbotsford and Eric Werner of
Milwaukee.
The bride was attired in a gown fashioned with a Chantilly lace bodice and long
sleeves and an angel mist bouffant skirt with chapel train of lace and organza.
A star headpiece of taffeta with pearl and sequin trim held the three-tier
bouffant veil. She carried an arrangement of white mums and red roses.
Her attendants wore empire gowns in willow green made with Venice lace bodices,
cap sleeves and crepe A-line skirts with Watteau panels of lace and crepe. Their
headpieces of bows and petals with short veils matched their dresses. They
carried bouquets of orange and yellow mums.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Abbotsford City Hall and a
dinner was served at St. Bernard's Church Hall. In the evening, a wedding dance
was held at Gad Dance Hall, Medford.
The bride, a 1965 graduate of the Abbotsford High School, was employed as a
clerical worker for Employers Mutual, Wausau.
Her husband, a 1963 graduate of the Medford High School, serve in the Marine
Corps with a year's duty in Vietnam, and is presently a sophomore majoring in
forestry at Wis. State University, Stevens Point.
Guests attending the wedding came from Chicago, Milwaukee, Watertown, Wausau,
Chippewa Falls, Medford, Spencer, Unity, Colby, Owen and Abbotsford.
