Mueller, John (26 SEP 1889 – 27 SEP 1968)

John Mueller, 79, Abbotsford, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1968 at 6:10 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, following a heart attack.

Services were held at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Monday at 2 p.m. Robert Ruprich of the Jehovah Witnesses officiated. Mr. Mueller was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Mrs. James Daellenbach of Abbotsford was the organist.

The pallbearers for the interment made in the Abbotsford Cemetery were Wilfred Brunner, John Klabunde, Walter Miller, Randall Mueller, Fred Patrie and Robert Uhlig.

Mr. Mueller was born in Switzerland Sept. 26, 1889. When he was 17 years old he came with his parents to the United States, who settled at Monroe. His marriage to Verena Schiesser took place at New Glarus in 1915.

The couple farmed at Greenwood until 1923, when they came to Abbotsford. Mr. Mueller was employed for many years at the Abbotsford Hardware Store, and later assisted his son at the Abbotsford Appliance.

Mrs. Mueller died in September 1962, and for the past six years Mr. Mueller made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Miller, Abbotsford.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Marie) Miller, Abbotsford, Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Stelzel, Farmington, Minn., and Mrs. Ted (Verna) Patrie, La Crosse; two sons, Milton, West Allis, and Robert of Abbotsford; two sisters, Mrs. Altar (Leona) Lester, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Johnson, Allendale, S.C.; two brothers, Walter Mueller, Eau Claire, and Albert Mueller, Jacksonville, Ore., and 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Herman, who was killed in action in World War II, three brothers and a sister.
