Washburn (17 January 1974)

Mrs. Claude Kyle went to Milwaukee last week Wednesday with relatives from Thorp, where she attended the funeral of Mr. Kyle’s niece, Mrs. Jon LeClaire, 35, on Friday. They returned home Saturday.

Mrs. Harry Kissling has been remodeling her home quite extensively this fall and winter. She returned home last week after staying with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kissling for a few months.

Harold Moennig was moved from Memorial Hospital by ambulance to the Veterans Hospital in Madison a few days ago. Friends may write him there, although so far we have no other address, other than V. A. Hospital.

Mrs. Bruce Spiegel and daughter, Lori, spent Thursday with Mrs. Chris Feutz and helped her celebrate her 84th birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Gale Lonning and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Jiggs) Poler of West Bend spent last weekend with his brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams and Mr. and Mrs. George Sherwood, and his mother, Mrs. William Poler, at Memorial Home. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg Sunday at their cottage in Hatfield. Mr. and Mrs. Williams spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Vandeberg at their cottage.

Brenda Urban was an overnight guest Friday of her grandmother, Mrs. Irving Stevens, and attended the basketball game at the high school.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer were in Marshfield Thursday where Mrs. Kapfer had her checkup at the clinic.

Mrs. John Reinart and daughter, Judy, were in Marshfield Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Steponik of Pray visited Friday evening at the Mrs. Wanda Pretsch home.

Jeanine Voight of Elkhorn visited Friday at the Oliver Williams home. Wendell Williams returned to Elkhorn with her for a few days visit with his brother, Roger and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brekke and family of Eau Claire spent the weekend with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Melvin. Mr. Brekke is recovering from recent surgery.

William Rizner was a recent caller at the Charles Havlicek Sr., and Ralph Short home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Meddaugh visited Mr. and Mrs. William Vetrone in Pine Valley recently.
