John, Ernest Herman (15 August 1902 - 16 January 1974)

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral home, Belvidere, Il., for Ernest Herman John of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died January 16 at the age of 71. The Rev. Kenneth Kramer of the Belvidere united Church of Christ officiated. Interment was in the Belvidere Cemetery. The body of Mr. John was in state Thursday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home, where arrangements were made.

Ernest John, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred John, was born August 15, 1902, at Garden Prairie, Il., and was educated in schools there. His marriage to the former Lavona Fossler took place August 15, 1936, at Belvidere.

Mr. John worked for the National Sewing Machine Company in Illinois and came to Clark County, where he farmed in the Town of Levis, in 1943. He was a member of the Neillsville United Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, includes one son, Ernest F. John of Cleveland, Oh.; a sister, Mrs. George (Elsie) Goetz of Eustis, Fl.; and a brother, Emmett John of Malta, Oh.
