Stubbs, John E (22 MAY 1916 – 12 OCT 1968)

John E. Stubbs, 52, of Dorchester, died of a heart ailment at his home Saturday, Oct. 12, 1968.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Peace United Church of Christ, and the Rev. Joseph Jeide officiated. Burial was made at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Pinter, Jerry Radlinger, Jerome Rankl, George Rau, Lloyd Carlson and John Oestreich.

Mr. Stubbs was born in Tipton, Ia. May 22, 1916. He married Margaret Thumm on Feb. 1, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, Ia. The couple resided in Iowa until November of 1960, when they purchased a farm in Dorchester.

Stubbs organized the Dorchester tractor pulling association. He was a member of Peace United Church, the Dorchester Lions Club, and the Men's Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ronald Albrecht, Abbotsford; two sons, James and Bobby, at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Foster Tenley, Stanwood, Ia., and Mrs. Kenneth Perkins of Aledo, Ill.
