Miss Vera Andrus, a native of Clark County, Wis., returned last week to be
honored by the Clark County Historical Society. She has gained fame as an
author, artist and poet in Massachusetts. The Society has declared October Vera
Andrus month, and she returned for a progem in her honor last week. Three of her
books have been given to the society for a museum being planned in the future.
In attendance were, her sister, Mrs. Dorothy Vanderhoeve of Grand Marais, Min..,
Miss Florence Garbusch of Loyal, society second vice president, the artist's
brother, Kenneth Andrus of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Pearl Vorland, Colby, society
first presidents, who was also one of the four incorporpators of the society
when it was formed in April 1955.
