Rilling, Mae L. (15 MAR 1887 – 20 OCT 1968)

Mrs. Rae L. Rilling, 81, route 1, Westboro, formerly of Abbotsford, died Sunday morning, Oct. 20 at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, following a lingering illness.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, where Eastern Star services were held Wednesday evening. On Thursday noon it was taken to the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford, where services were held at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Charles E. Glidden officiating.

The pallbearers for the interment made in the Abbotsford Cemetery were H.J. Amacher, Chet Knight, Lawrence Neitzel, Joe Sebold, M.C. Thompson, all of Abbotsford, and Ray McCarthy of Wausau.

Mrs. Rilling, the former Mae Leona Smith, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, March 15, 1887. She received her education in Chicago and was married in that city to Dr. J.A. Rilling, Aug. 31, 1909. Shortly after their marriage they came to Abbotsford, where Dr. Rilling established a dental practice. In 1959 they moved to their home at Harper Lake, route 1, Westboro. Dr. Rilling died in 1966.

Mrs. Rilling was a charter member of the Royal Neighbor Camp at Abbotsford and a member of the Abbotsford Chapter of the Order of eastern Star and White Shrine of Wausau.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Winifred) Ourada of Wausau, Miss Althea Rilling, at home, and one granddaughter, Mary.
