Columbia (24 January 1974)
Georgeana and William Schulz visited last week Monday afternoon with Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Harder at Christie. In the evening the Schulzes visited Mr. and Mrs.
George Mashin.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eslinger of Weston, and Donna and Deanna Brushhaber, visited
the George Mashins’ last Week Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Karl of Pine Valley visited Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Endel last
week Sunday afternoon.
Dorrell McDonell and a friend from Milwaukee spent the weekend in their cottage
on Cherry Street.
Mr. and Mrs. William Sollberger called on Ella Lockman and Louise Ehlert at
Memorial Home one afternoon recently.
Leo Sischo visited Mr. and Mrs. William Sollberger Wednesday afternoon. Satruday,
visitors at the Sollberger home were Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Endel, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Kolbrak of Altoona, and in the evening Harvey Sherman of Altoona
visited there.
Reports came here that Altah Thomas of Greenwood is a patient at a hospital in
Marshfield, having suffered a stroke at her home last week Tuesday. Her
condition is slowly improving. Mrs. Thomas is a former Columbia area resident
and is a sister of Leo Sischo.
Snowmobilers had fun in Columbia valley over the weekend.
