Sutherland Patsy R. "Pat" (9 SEP 1938 – 21 AUG 2015)
Patsy R. "Pat" Sutherland, 76, of Mead Lake, rural Greenwood, passed away on
Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. No services
will be held.
Patsy Rae Boughner was born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Milwaukee, the daughter of
Joseph and Myrtle (nee Carlson) Boughner. She was raised and received her
education in Milwaukee and attended Riverside High School, where she met her
husband-to-be, Gil, at a sock hop. After graduating from Riverside High School
in 1956, Pat married Gilbert W. Sutherland on Aug. 27, 1960, at the Divine
Charity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They raised their family in Stevens Point
and Neenah, where Pat was employed for 20 years as the office manager for a
local machine shop. Pat served as a bookkeeper and dispatcher at Ashland
Chemical in Menasha, and eventually retired from an office position at JJ
Keller. Pat loved traveling to Mexico, spending time with her family, and
camping. Time spent with Gil at Boyd’s Mason Lake Lodge in Fifield was always
the highlight of the year. Pat was an avid reader and an unstoppable knitter.
She gifted many cherished afghans, sweaters and mittens to friends and family,
and hundreds of baby hats for local hospitals.
Pat will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Gil, Greenwood; two
daughters, Andrea (Almus) Kenter, Kingston, N.H., and Chantelle (Thomas) Stocco,
Shorewood; four grandchildren, Linas, Daris, Magdalena, and Maxwell; one
brother-in-law, Dennis Blanke, Grafton; one niece; three nephews; and other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Boughner; and one
sister, Judy Blanke.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Pat’s name to the Greenwood Public Library is
welcomed.
