Perushek, Tony (18 JAN 1924 – 20 Aug 2015)
Tony Perushek, age 91, of Neillsville, WI died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the
Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Anton Donald Perushek was born on January 18, 1924 in Willard, WI the son of
Ludwig and Pauline (Stupica) Perushek. Tony was raised and educated in Willard
and then enlisted into the United States Army in 1942. He attended basic
training at Camp Robinson in Arkansas and then served twenty-six months at the
Aleutian Islands in Alaska and some time at Camp Callen, CA before being sent to
Europe to participate in the Battle of the Bulge. When the war ended he was
stationed in Germany until he was sent to Fort Sheridan, IL. After his Honorable
Discharge he moved back to Willard and worked at Laabs Dairy. On June 22, 1950
Tony was united in marriage to Jeanette Carl in Willard. They moved to
Neillsville where Tony worked for the Neillsville Milk Products for sixteen
years and then as a custodian at the Clark County Court House for twenty-two
years and then the Neillsville Public Library until he retired in 2013. Tony was
a member of the Neillsville VFW, the KSKJ Lodge in Willard and St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Neillsville where he also served as a money counter.
Tony loved to garden, play cards, go deer hunting and reminisce about his days
growing up in Willard.
He is survived by a daughter; Patricia Perushek of Eau Claire, WI and a son;
John (Tammy) Perushek of Neillsville, three grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Placek
of Kaukana, WI, Ashley Perushek of South Milwaukee, WI and Benjamin Perushek of
Eau Claire, WI and two great grandchildren; Easton and Emmalyn.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife; Jeanette on May 8, 2015 and a son,
Michael in 2002, sisters; Pauline Volk, Angeline Schultz, Ann Perushek, Mary
Shumate and brothers; Frank, Joe, Charles and Ludwig Perushek.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August
28, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, WI. Rev. Varkey V. Joseph
will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, with Military
Honors performed by the Neillsville Veteran's Council. Visitation will be from
9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
