Mr. and Mrs. Leland Duxbury were in La Crosse Thursday.
Everett Smith of Spencer brought his mother, Mrs. Matie Smith, home Tuesday. She
had spent several weeks visiting in Appleton and Spencer and will now be at the
home of Mrs. Emma Berber for the winter.
Mrs. Hillard Anderson of Black River Falls and Mrs. Lyle Newell drove to Eau
Claire Wednesday to have dinner and spend the afternoon with Mrs. Edith Calkins
and Miss Grace Calkins.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Larson of Hixton and Mrs. Minnie Larson of Alma Center
spent Saturday afternoon at the Perle Pickett home.
Mrs. Frieda Zerbel spent last week with her daughter, Mrs. LaVerne Kaufman, in
rural Fairchild.
Mrs. Geneva Fitzmaurice came home Saturday from Rochester and reports her
husband is slowly gaining, but needing a great deal of care. Their son, Dick, of
Cabour, S.C., will be with him this week and she will be going back Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Catencamp called Sunday at the home of Mrs. Anita Markham.
Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Parent and Steve drove to Albertville Saturday to spend the
day at the home of her brother, Rueben Burrington.
Mrs. Willis Johnson and children of Appleton spent the weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Polege. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Fricky Theiler and children of
Cataract joined the family for dinner.
Mrs. Minnie Duxbury of Merrillan was a dinner guests Sunday of her son, Leland
Duxbury and wife.
Some of those numbered among the flu and cold sufferers are: Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Kirby, Mrs. Arnold Matti, Mrs. Anita Markham and Mrs. Laura Dignin.
Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett were supper guests Saturday of Mrs. Clara Taude in
Alma Center. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jahn.
Mrs. Rolla Sieg of Fairchild and Mrs. Bernard Sieg and children drove to
Owatonna, Mn, Saturday to spend until Sunday at the home of Mrs. Paulette
Sirncox their daughter and sister-in-law
Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett were supper guests Sunday at the Bernard Burnett home
in rural Hixton. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burnett and children of Hixton also were
guests.
Mr and Mrs. Dewayne Parents and Steve drove to thorp Sunday to spend the day
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Burrington.
Mrs. Sam Fitzmaurice is confined to her home with a very bad cold.
The garage and shop belonging to Jim Trachsel was broken into last week,
considerable damage was done and some things are missing.
