Zuther, Arnold G. (16 JAN 1897 – 7 NOV 1968)
Funeral services for Arnold G. Zuther, 71, who died at his home at Colby
Thursday, Nov. 7, 1968, of an apparent heart attack, were held Monday, Nov. 11
at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Dorchester, with the Rev. Sprengler officiating.
Mrs. Ted Schwoch was the organist.
Interment was made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. The pallbearers were Duncan
Budjmilla, Joe Dyrcz, Arthur Vircks, Carl Vircks, Marlin Vircks and Willard
Vircks.
Mr. Zuther was born at Norfolk, Neb., Jan. 16, 1897. He was married to Olga
Vircks on Oct. 31, 1928, at Stetsonville. The couple farmed at Rib Lake for a
short time after their marriage. He was employed in road construction for two
years and farmed at Stetsonville for five years.
In 1935, the Zuthers moved to a farm in the town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.)
and farmed there for 25 years before moving to Colby in 1965, where eh worked
part time servicing farm milking equipment.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by s son, Norman, Denver, Colo.; three
daughters, Mrs. Doris Samek, Cicero, Ill., Mrs. Robert Schumacher, Dorchester,
and Mrs. Donald O'Shoney, Cicero, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs.
Fred Hengst, Rib Lake, and Mrs. Emma Ellerman of Balboa Island, Calif.
