Downer, Victor, R. (Ted) (12 January 1909 - 28 January 1974)

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, for Victor R. (Ted) Downer, 65, of Neillsville, who died Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The Rev. Virgil Taylor of Marshfield is to officiate and burial will be in the Windfall Cemetery at Granton.

Mr. Downer was born January 12, 1909, in the Town of York. He was married October 10, 1932, at Winona, Mn, to the former Hulda Henze, who preceded him in death June 12, 1972. His marriage to Elaine Walters took place in Marshfield June 23, 1973. Mr. Downer farmed in the Town of York until 1969, when he moved to Neillsville.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Jack Downer of West Bend; one brother, Eugene Downer of Cassville; one sister, Mrs. Erhart Witte of Lakeland, Fl., and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be: Vern Gaier, Victor Braatz, Joe Pernsteiner, Durward Schwarze, Donald Gall and Elmer Elmhorst. Mrs. Lee Garbisch will be the organist.
