Mrs. Julia Koci has returned after spending a month in Europe. She visited her
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Koci and family, in Bordeaux,
France, and spent several days with relatives in Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haupt of Elkhorn and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bredleau of Custer
spent the weekend at the Clarence Verhulst home and with other relatives.
Saturday they attended the Verhulst-Speich wedding.
Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart were their children, Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Decker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart and family, and Dr. ad Mrs.
Gary Rohde and sons, Dean and Douglas of River Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haupt of Elkhorn and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bredleau of Custer
visited Satruday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Effie Swieso.
Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart were Charles Wetzel
and his daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Atcherson of Unity.
Mr. and Mrs. Monte Haugland of Somerset and Miss Arlene Verhulst of La Crosse
visited last weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Verhulst, and on
Saturday attended the Verhulst-Speich wedding.
Gerald Jakobi of Milwaukee spent from Saturday until Monday at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jakobi, and with his sister, Mrs. Roger Liebzeit and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Liebzeit and his mother, Mrs. Clara Liebzeit, visited in
Appleton last weekend.
Birthdays celebrated this week at the Clark County Home for the Aged were: the
52nd birthday of Norma Schultz, on January 23, and the 88th birthday of Otto
Hoeft, January 24. The birthday cakes were furnished by members of the Good
Evening Social Club.
Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson were their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaisler of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kaisler
of Pewaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Melford Molle of Marshfield; Mrs. Ernst Molle of
Unity; Mrs. Leida Kurtzheim of Milwaukee and Miss Louise Keiner.
The young adults Bible study group met Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Vern Henaman.
The Annual congregational meeting was held Sunday in Immanuel United Church of
Christ following a potluck dinner at noon.
Officers elected to the church board were Clayton Braun and Elmer Humke, to
replace Irving Timmler and Irvin Humke, whose terms have expired. Mrs. Henry
Vollrath and Harold Horn were reelected to the cemetery board.
Plans were made for the centennial celebration of the congregation, which will
be held July 7, with two services: in the morning and in the afternoon.
The first meeting of the consistory for the New Year was held Monday evening.
