Leffel, Leo H. (3 APR 1925 - 23 AUG 2015)
Leo H. Leffel, 90, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Tomahawk, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1925 in Colby, son of the late Otto and Bertha (Hoernke)
Leffel.
On August 31, 1955 he married Joanne Gierl in Colby. She preceded him in death
on February 15, 2008.
Leo farmed in the town of Frankfort. He enjoyed making maple syrup, bird
watching and hunting. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work, spending time with
his old buddies and especially spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his children, Dianne (Tim) Filyaw, Wenatchee, Wash., Dan
(Cheryl) Leffel, Stratford, Gary (Lyn) Leffel, Spencer, Peggy Ann (Matthew)
Venne, Tomahawk, Jaclyn (Brian) Luttropp, Tomahawk, and Scott (Missy Millar)
Leffel, Menominee; step-daughter, Kathy (Duane) Bowe, Chippewa Falls; 14
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marcella "Sis" Schwantes,
Bernadine (Norbert) Martens, Irene (Ed) Burkart, Vernon "Huntz" (Pat) Leffel,
Melvin "Mac" Leffel, and Milford "Hezzy" (Mary Ann Krueger) Leffel.
Besides his parents and wife, Joanne, he was preceded in death by a brother,
Elroy Leffel. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at
St. John Lutheran Church, W1000 County Road N, Edgar. Rev. Gail Sowell will
officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Colby, at a later date. Friends may call
Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Online
