Kilty, Elvira A. (Goelden) (5 NOV 1931 - 1 SEP 2015)

Elvira A. Kilty, age 83, of Spencer was welcomed into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 while family surrounded her in silent prayer.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. John’s ELCA Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Rebekah Tarras will officiate. Private committal services will take place at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church in Spencer from 4PM until 8PM and again on Saturday from 10AM until time of services.

Elvira was born on November 5, 1931 in Milan, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Strebe) Goelden, Jr. She attended Unity Country School and Abbotsford High School. Elvira was united in marriage to Robert R. Kilty on June 7, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. Sadly, Bob passed away on December 1, 2011. In 1955, Elvira became employed at Roddis Company in Marshfield which later became Weyerhaeuser where she worked in different departments finally retiring as a lead person in 1994. For over 49 years Elvira and her husband Robert owned and operated the “Kilty’s Kountry Kourt” in the Town of Spencer.

Her hobbies included tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, with her patient and gifted hands she made beautiful quilts for the high school graduates from her church and for World Relief, for families with newborns in the neonatal unit at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital and for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy. Her children remember the gorgeous “rag rugs” she made for them. Elvira enjoyed camping at Hatfield, fishing wherever she could or spending time with family and friends. She was always willing to help out people in need by offering her time at the King’s Pantry in Spencer.

She was a former member at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity and a current member at St. John’s ELCA Lutheran Church in Spencer.

She is lovingly survived by her children: William (Sandra) Kilty, David (special friend Mary Ott) Kilty, James (Janice) Kilty, Paul Kilty and Pamela Kilty; 18 grandchildren: Steve Kilty, Scott Kilty, Tracy (Jon) Wagner, Mike (Angie) Loos, Raymond (Judy) Kilty, Bryan (Tanya) Kilty, Mark (Sarah) Kilty, Pat (Keresa) Kilty, Tricia (Nate) Fullerton, Josh (Jenny) Kilty, Jonah (Renee) Kilty, Jason (Cory) Schmitt, Laura Schmitt, Jenny (Andy) Hendrickson, Donald (Carla) Kilty, Angela (Keith Ostricki) Kilty, Jesse (fiancé Michelle King) Kilty, Michelle (Kevin) Meidl; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Elvira is further survived by one sister-in-law JoAnn Goelden; her two canine companions: Ruger and Magnum along with other relatives and many friends.

Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, a daughter Judy Schmitt and a son and daughter-in-law Gary (Linda) Kilty; a daughter-in-law Sandra Kilty and one brother Harold Goelden.
