Mrs. Alma Bedroske of Abbotsford received word Saturday evening of the death of
her aunt, Mrs. Minnie Allar, age 90, of Chicago, which occurred at 9:30 a.m. at
the Belmont Hospital following a stroke the previous day. She formerly lived on
a farm just south of Colby, from where the family moved to Marshfield. About 20
years ago she moved to Chicago, where she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Johnny
Mize. She is also survived by another daughter, Leaoda, who resides in
Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3 at St. Timothy's Lutheran
Church, Chicago, with interment in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee. Her husband,
Frank Allar, died about 20 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Redmann, Dawn and Dean, visited from Friday until Thursday with
their parents at the Walter Runzheimer home, Colby, and at the Ida Redmann home
near Edgar, while Mr. Redmann also enjoyed some deer hunting with relatives and
friends.
Miss Beverly Runzheimer, a senior at the University of Wisconsin, spent the
Thanksgiving weekend at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gumz were at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Flink of Colby, the opening weekend of deer season, to babysit
with their grandchildren while their parents went hunting.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Zrutskie have moved to Colby. Terry is employed by the
American Gas Company, and starting this week his service will include this area.
Raymond J. Schuh spent his week's vacation deer hunting and visiting his father,
Albert W. Schuh.
Floyd Sossaman and son, Russell and Tom, Hales Corners, spent the past two
weekends at the home of his brother, Ralph, Abbotsford. They also hunted with
Floyd's father, Wallace, and another brother, Claude. Ralph bagged his first
buck in seven years of hunting.
Mrs. Pauline Rankel, Mr. and Mrs. George Rankel, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hollman,
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fricke, Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hanson, Unity, Mrs. Robert
Ruprich and Mrs. Bernard Klabunde, Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schulze, Miss
Helen Rankel and Mrs. Ray Dreczynski, Chicago, attended the funeral of Gustave
Overheck, Rothschild, Friday, which was held at Janasen Funeral Home at
Schofield. Mr. Overheck was married at Colby Sept. 5, 1942, to Miss Pauline
Rankel. A former Chicago resident, he came to Rothschild 18 years ago and was a
sheet metal mechanic for Schield and Zillman of Schofield. Besides his wife,
surviving are a son, William, at home, three daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Hagen,
Wausau, and Nancy and Julie at home.
Mrs. Pauline Rankel is spending a few weeks in Chicago with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mrs. And Mrs. Veto Dizanno and new granddaughter born Nov. 27.
Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Tesmer, Jim and Lori, spent Thanksgiving in Verona with their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bullock and family. They were joined
there by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Commarato, eAst Lansing, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Hederer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carr, Jimmy and Julie Ann, were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hederer and family of Butternut, on Thanksgiving Day.
Henry Carr bagged a 9-point buck that afternoon.
Mrs. Edna Waldhart and son, Buzzy, spent the weekend at Appleton with Mr. and
Mrs. William Waldhart and family and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Waldhart and family.
Mrs. Vi Zahner, Cornell, came Thanksgiving Day for a visit with her son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Brunker and family. Mary Brunker was also home
for the holidays from Stevens Point, WSU.
