Gosse, Louis (22 MAY 1885 – 28 NOV 1968)
Funeral services for Louis Gosse, 83, route 2, Colby, were held Monday at 2 p.m.
at the United Church of Christ, Colby.
Mr. Gosse died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 28, 1968, at his home in the town of
Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), apparently of a heart attack.
The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated at the services, and interment was made in the
Colby Memorial Cemetery.
The Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Louis Gosse was born in Sheboygan County on May 22, 1885, and worked there as a
carpenter. He came to the Colby area in 1908. His marriage to the former Ida
Lube, who survives him, took place May 24, 1911. They lived on a farm since
their marriage.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Herman of Colby and Melvin of
Curtiss, and five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Anita) Schuh and Mrs. Alvin Krueger,
both of Colby, Mrs. Alfred (Harriet) Laabs of Owen, Mrs. Edwin (Viola) Ewert of
Wausau, and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Rodriguez of Quantico, Va.
There are 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, Edward, of
Sheboygan, and a sister, Mrs. Adolph Sommer of Cleveland, Wis., also survive.
Preceding him in death were two brothers and a sister.
