Sheila Trindal, daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Trindal, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), has
been selected as the Badger Girl's State representative from Loyal. Sue
Schellinger was chosen as the alternate.
Badger Girl's State is held annually at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in
June. Two hundred girls participate in the event, which lasts for a week.
Representatives are chosen in this fashion: First, the faculty picks six girls
from the junior class who have good grades, health, are dependable, and have
good leadership qualities. From these girls, on girl and an alternate are named
by the American Legion Auxiliary.
Sheila has been a active participate in drama and forensics. She has displayed
leadership by being one of the school's cheerleaders.
Sue is president of the Pep Club and has participated in forensics.
The week at Badger Girl's State is spent listening to lectures, meeting
important people, voting, campaigning for offices, and visiting places of
interest in the city. All of this adds up to a very rewarding experience of the
participating girl.
