The Spencer Fire Department was called at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday March 18,
1970, to a barn fire on the Eugene Troka farm, 1 1/2 miles S.W. of Riplinger,
Unity Township (Clark Co., Wis.), where a 34 x 80 foot barn was lost, along with
approximately 3,000 bales of hay and some farm machinery. Firemen prevented the
fire, which is believed to be caused by faulty wiring, from spreading to
adjoining buildings.
