Eau Claire State's Roger Scherer will be honored in the 1970 volume of Outstanding Athletes of America.

Nominated by the school earlier this year, Roger was chosen to appear in this publication on the basis of his sports achievements, leadership ability, athletic recognition and community service, and also for proving himself outstanding in campus activities and curriculum.

Scherer, a Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) senior, is an outstanding baseball player who has been scouted by a number of pro teams. He has been the leading hitter on the Blugold team the last two seasons. He finished seventh in the conference last spring with a .348 average. He is also an active member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, in which he has held a number of offices. The past two years he has been named to the national All-Sigma Tau Gamma baseball team.
