Sollberger, Leonard Albert ‘Mick’ (19 November 1929 - 26 August 2015)

Leonard (Mick) Albert Sollberger, 85, of Neillsville Passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Leonard was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Neillsville to Albert and Francis (Poertner) Sollberger. He attended Neillsville High School., and as a high school senior, he worked part-time as a projectionist at the Adler Theater. After graduation, he joined the U. S. Army, spending the majority of his enlistment at Fort Monmouth, NJ. After his honorary discharge, he worked for Northern States power Company and at Russell’s Hardware Store. Leonard moved to Sun Prairie and worked for the Veteran’s Hospital in Madison. After retirement, he moved south to Cherokee Village, AR. He returned to reside permanently in Neillsville enjoying his computer with a great interest in family genealogy.

He is survived by his sister, Helen (Sollberger) Upton of Cross Plains; niece Deborah (Kenneth) Coblentz of Adell, and nephew Dean (Jean) Upton of Madison. He is further survived by his great-nephews, Nathan (Tammy) Coblentz of Neillsville, Benjamin Coblentz of Madison and Shawn (Amanda) Upton of Brookfield; great-niece, Jennifer (William) Garbers of La Crescent, MN; great-great-nephew, Mason Coblentz of Neillsville; and cousins, other relatives and friends.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother John; and brother-in-law, Gavin Upton.

Burial will be held privately at the Neillsville City Cemetery at a later date.
