Truckey, Randy Joseph (23 July 1965 - 5 September 2015)
Randy J. Truckey, age 50, of Thorp, joined his father and his son in heavenly
peace on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Thorp Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Budzinski
officiated and burial followed in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Tim Tieman, Travis Tieman, Darrel Zurakowski, Ricky Truckey,
Jr., Kirk Dahm, Dan Windl, Cody Schillinger, and Lenny Kilmer. Visitation was
held at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
and again on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Randy Joseph Truckey was born to Joseph and Mary Ann (Budzinski) Truckey, on
July 23, 1965, in Stanley, WI. Randy grew up in Thorp and graduated from Thorp
High School in 1983.
Randy’s early professional life included: Stanley Case Works of Stanley, and
Menards of Eau Claire. After moving to Amery, he was employed as a union
carpenter out of the Twin Cities. He later ventured into a partnership and
started his own carpentry business. Most recently, he worked as a bartender for
his parents at the Silver Dollar of Thorp.
Randy was united in marriage to Lori Cornell on July 13, 1985, at St.
Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, in Thorp, and they became the proud
parents of a son and daughter. They later divorced.
Randy had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, rebuilding
muscle cars, and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Clark County Tavern
League and ABATE.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne (Jason) Moore of Stanley; three
grandchildren, Kiley, Khloe, and Brantley Moore; his mother, Mary Ann Truckey of
Thorp; one brother, Rick (Jamie) Truckey of Thorp; three sisters: Loir Kopacz
(Scott Sigsworth) of Amery, Lisa (Dean) Lis of Neillsville, Leslie (Joe) Hallin
of Thorp; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Truckey, on December 18,
2008; one son Kyle Truckey on March 22, 2013; and two grandsons.
