Riese, Sharon Dawn (21 MAR 1970)

The Trinity Lutheran Church, Arkdale, was the setting for a 6:00 p.m. double ring ceremony March 21, 1970, for the wedding of Miss Sharon Dawn Riese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz G. Riese, Friendship, and Thomas Raymond Guzman, son of Mrs. Melva Guzman, Loyal. The Rev. Richard Halom officiated.

The bride appeared in a gown of Dacron polyester in an empire silhouette, with lace bodice and Camelot sleeves, and a lace trimmed Watteau chapel train. Her French illusion veil was secured with a be-ribboned bonnet of lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of lilies.

The wedding party were Mrs. Sandra Tolley, Wis. Rapids, as matron of honor; Miss Sandra Guzman, Loyal, Mrs. Susan Daley, Reedsburg, and Miss Sheryl Schlagenhaft, Loyal, as bridesmaids. All wor identical gowns of navy blue organza in empire shirtwaists, accented with white collar and cuffs. They carried fireside baskets of red carnations and white mums.

Serving as best man for his brother was Jack Guzman, Loyal. Barry Riese, Friendship, and Joseph Bruckert and Thomas Felton, both of Loyal, were groomsmen.

Guests were seated by Lowell Riese of Friendship and Franklin Catlin, Chippewa Falls.

A buffet dinner, reception and dance for 360 guests was held at the Moundview Country Club, Friendship.

The bride attended Wis. State University, Whitewater. Her husband is a 1969 graduate of the same school, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. Mr. Guzman is currently serving in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Ky.
