Johnson, Elizabeth (29 OCT 1885 – 29 APR 1970)
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church of Unity
for Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, 84, of Route 2, Spencer, who died last Wednesday,
April 29, 1970.
The Rev. Robert Sutherland, pastor, officiated, and burial was made in the
Brighton Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Edwin Slen, Mike Wellner, Rueben Miller,
and Roger Anderson.
Two Swedish songs, "Time Disappears Quickly as a Dream," and "Children of the
Heavenly Father" were sung by Rev. Sutherland, who furnished his own
accompaniment.
The former Elizabeth Anderson was born in Sweden on Oct. 29, 1885, and arrived
in the United States in 1907. She was married to William Johnson on May 9, 1913,
who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1925. The couple lived in the Spencer area
since 1923.
Survivors are two sons, William Johnson, Spencer, Walter Johnson, address
unknown; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Emma Clint, Sweden. She was also
preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
