Enockson, Joe K. (18 JUL 1933 – 12 SEP 2015)
Joe K. Enockson, age 82, of Palatine, IL, formerly of Greenwood, WI, passed away
on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Journey Care Hospice Facility in Barrington,
IL. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, September 18, 2015 at
Immanuel United Church of Christ in Greenwood. Rev. Asafa Rajaofera will
officiate and burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Visitation will
be held at the church, on Friday, from 10am until time of service.
Joe Karl Enockson was born on July 18, 1933 in Eau Claire, WI, to Linn S. and
Ilma L. (Hoehne) Enockson. He was raised and received his education in
Greenwood, WI, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1952. After high school,
Joe worked at Hoehne Hardware, in Greenwood, before his marriage to Beverly J.
Reineke on October 31, 1959 at the United Church of Christ in New Holstein, WI.
They moved to Milwaukee, where Joe worked at American Motors for 6 1/2 years. In
1966, they moved to Palatine, IL. Joe began working for Motorola in 1967, and
remained there until retiring on January 1, 1995.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed deer hunting and loved his fishing
trips to Chetek, WI.
Joe is survived by his wife: Beverly of Palatine, IL; his son: Linn Enockson of
Cary, IL; one brother: Bill Enockson of Barrington, IL; a half-sister: Alice
Gustafson of Laveen, AZ; a step-sister: Virginia (Ronald) Jacobson of AZ; one
niece: Amy Enockson of Barrington, IL and one nephew: Kurt Enockson of
Ingleside, IL; several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his twin brother: Ernie Enockson.
