Serocki, Thomas Lee (5 April 1950 - 11 September 2015)
Thomas L. Serocki, age 65, of Eau Claire, formerly of Thorp, passed away at
Prairie View Assisted Living, in Eau Claire, on Friday, September 11, 2015.
Private family services were held at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church,
in Thorp, on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Rev. William Felix officiated and
burial was held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ron
Serocki, Mark Serocki, Jim Serocki, Jr., Mike Serocki, Dan Palmer, Greg Palmer,
Pete Palmer and Fred Palmer.
Thomas Lee Serocki was born on April 5, 1950, in Browns Valley, MN, to James and
Bernice (Homan) Serocki, and attended Beardsley Elementary School. In 1961, the
family moved to a dairy farm south of Thorp, where Tom attended St. Hedwig’s
Catholic School, later graduating from Thorp High School in 1968. He then
attended UW-Platteville for one year. Tom was a very intelligent and well-read
person.
Tom put in many years of dedicated service working at Mason Shoe in Chippewa,
going seventeen years without missing a day of work. He loved playing chess and
video games. Tom extracted the most entertainment out of life through his many
travels with his buddy at Prairie View, visiting such places as Florida, the
Dakotas, the Renaissance Festival, the Packer game, and local country music
festivals. He really enjoyed the plane rides. His favorite place to visit was
Paradise Shores in Holcombe.
He is survived by his father and step-mother: James Serocki, Sr. and Marian
Slowiak of Thorp; nine siblings: Ronald Serocki of Greenwood, Linda (Duane)
Briski of Greenwood, Mona (George) Wilson of Hayward, Marlene (Matt) Wilson of
Owen, Denise (Wally) Milas of Thorp, Mark (Becky) Serocki of Thorp, Brenda (Ken)
Pogodzinski of Withee, James, Jr. (Shelly) Serocki of Greenwood, Michael (Stacy)
Serocki of Greenwood; many step-brothers and step-sisters, several nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and his extended family at
Prairie View Assisted Living.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Serocki on January 16, 1995;
and one sister, Beverly Serocki, in infancy.
