Edwin C. Egbert, son of Mrs. Alice M. Egbert, 1206 N. Walnut, Abilene, Kansas,
and a graduate of the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) High School, was one of the
more than 700 cadets in this year's U.S. Air Force Academy graduating class.
He will receive his bachelor of science degree and commission as Air Force
Officer, June 3, 1970.
This is the 12th graduating class in the 15-year history of the air academy.
More than 70 percent of the graduating seniors are going on to pilot or
navigator training, and 15 percent will pursue graduate studies at universities
throughout the country. The others will be assigned to Operational Air Force
units.
Cadet Egbert majored in computer science and received special recognition as a
squadron administrative officer with the rank of cadet captain. Cadet Captain
Egbert has been selected for pilot training at Reese Air Force Base in Texas.
