Partridge, Sally Marie (Marriage - 16 February 1974)
A reception at the Holiday Inn, Beloit, followed the wedding Saturday, February
16, if Miss Sally Marie Partridge and Larry Gene Christie, both of Madison. The
couple exchanged vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony performed at St. Jude’s Catholic
Church, Beloit, by the Rev. Thomas Kuehn of St. Mary’s Hospital Madison.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Partridge, Beloit. Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene Christie, Neillsville, are the groom’s parents.
An arrangement of roses and baby’s breath complimented the Elizabethan styling
of the satapeau gown chosen by the former Miss Partridge. Cluny lace formed the
round, ruffle-edged yoke of the bodice, and a deep ruffle flounce of venise lace
formed the hemline of the skirt, flowing into a cathedral train. A bouffant,
fingertip veil held by a Camelot cap completed her ensemble.
Ms. Donna Dolan was the bride’s honor attendant, and Chris Cioni, Jane Clark,
Mrs. Don Sietsch and Sandy Partridge, were the bridesmaids. All are from Beloit.
Their royal blue empire-waist gowns were accented by white lace necklines with
red ribbon trim. Each wore a matching Juliet cap and carried a single,
long-stemmed rose.
Serving as bestman was Thomas Wren. Groomsmen were Patrick Ampe, David Pischer,
Phillip Van Kampen and Dick Wilcox. Ushering duties were shared by Don Dietsch
and Dennis Brogan.
Mark Christie of La Crosse was the ringbearer, and Judy Babcock of Poplar Grave,
Il., was the flower girl.
Special music at the wedding included the selections “Love Can Make You Happy”
and “Colour My World.”
A 1972 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School, the new Mrs. Christie is
employed as a secretary for a Madison insurance firm. Her husband graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1970 and is employed by the Dane County Humane
Society.
The newlyweds will live at 94 Lakewood Gardens, Madison.
